John H. Davis is an experienced litigating attorney practicing since 1968 in areas of personal injury and product liability litigation. He was certified as a mediator by the Attorney-Mediators Institute in 1989, certified as an AAM Advanced Certified Mediator, and has mediated in excess of 2000 cases since 1989. He is A.V. rated by Martindale-Hubbell, a member of ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates), The Association of Attorney-Mediators, San Antonio Bar Association, and State Bar of Texas.
Mr. Davis brings an invaluable asset to the settlement table. He works with attorneys to effectively design and negotiate structured settlement annuities in a wide range of areas. He has personal experience with Special Needs Trust and documenting the file with highest due diligence for structured settlement annuities.
As a Settlement Specialist, Mr. Davis:
- Adds value to the resolution of every case.
- Is knowledgeable and conversant of legal requirements and industry standards.
- Is experienced in balancing the need and ability to obtain/maintain private and governmental benefits and assisting with Special Needs Trusts.
- Develops Financial Needs Analysis which incorporates experts' economic reports and life care plans, attorney input, and the client's social and financial data.
- Designs creative programs to replace lost income and provide future care for both large and small cases, using structured settlement annuities and other investment alternatives.
- Provides on-site settlement conference assistance and negotiation support.
- Offers full annuity brokerage through quality companies.
Formerly, Mr. Davis was a member of the Committee on Admissions which passes on the suitability of applicants to be members of the State Bar and was a member and committee chair of the District 10A Grievance Committee which hears and decides complaints against attorneys involving allegations of violations of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct. He was also a United States Marine for 5 years.
